Watch Together
Connecting people in fun and engaging ways.Messenger launched as a standalone app in 2011 and since then, everyday there are more than 150 million video calls and more than 200 million videos shared on the platform. However, there’s still quite a bit of social friction when video calling someone and in most cases is seen as highly utilitarian. We wanted to blur the line between utility and fun to encourage new ways of spending quality time together.

While video calling friends and family, it’s difficult to have shared experiences that would naturally happen together in person while hanging out so we wanted to create an engaging co-watching platform that allows you and your friends to browse and watch synchronized videos together at the same time.
We leveraged both quantitive and qualitative research/learnings as much as possible and used different forms to learn early and often. These learnings played a crucial role and informed how we navigated between each milestone.
